last night, i held my final tastination food tour (stan is taking the company forward from today on). it was at an oaxacan restaurant and i played tour guide. for the life of me, i could not pronounce the word "oaxaca," which is supposed start with the "wo" sound, not the "oh" sound. no matter how much i heard the word in my head, i just couldn't replicate it verbally -- i guess that's what happens to a korean girl trying to imitate a white girl trying to pronounce spanish. what can i say, my tongue is MIK ("made in korea")!
speaking of words i can't pronounce, why is the word "prepubescent" the hardest word in the english dictionary to say? don't ask why i was using the word to begin with.
anyhoo, more english fun. we made these marketing tshirts for the company yesterday which has the slogan: "take your tastebuds places." unfortunately, the tshirts dudes screwed it up and dropped the last s: "take your tastebuds place." the thing is, my fobby self actually went to approve the proofs and didn't even catch that. oh well, it's just a meant-to-be tribute to original mr. fob!
