so i was "ego surfing" yesterday (i.e. googling yourself) to see what comes up. besides the fact that google thinks i'm a massive nerd, i'm also a piano brand. who knew.
anyhoo, during my search, i came across a picture that made me remember the first time i drank drank. only about a month into my freshman year in college, russ (jenn's bf at the time) convinced me to try out for a musical. yes, you heard right...a MUSICAL. obviously for those of you who have been blessed enough to hear me blech out a tone-deaf tune at karaoke, this was not a pretty sight. but nevertheless, they were short people so they asked me to try out. i didn't know the fully lyrics to any song...but made the cut with my sultry rendition of "take me out to the ball game." okay, it wasn't sultry.
this musical was quite...um...lame. i don't recall the premise except that it was called "robots" and there were in fact, robots. i played the role of some chancellor peon named whimper. i was always nervous and worried, and my big song was called, "what the heck is happening" where i'm running around frantically...okay, stop laughing already.
so the picture of this musical pops up on the web and i start cracking up. not only because i was almost a robot (can you imagine me in that outfit? thank goodness), but because this musical is the reason why i got drunk for the first time. after a friday night show, we had a crew party where i had about seven drinks. since i had no idea what being "drunk" felt like, i thought i was totally fine...that is, until i got back to my dorm, started feeling dizzy, and hurled all over my roomie's bed (she wasn't in it). let's just say my roomie was not a happy camper that night. but i mean, it's really her fault for picking the lower bunk in the first place, right? just kidding.
sigh. how i've grown up. or not.
crap, but now i have "what the heck is happening" in my head. and no, i won't sing it for you.

that will teach you next time to keep your ego in check!!
I've never tried googling myself before. Apparently I'm an architect, an author and I posted a video of an ugly baby on YouTube.
OMG... That is the funniest picture ever. I can't believe it's for real. I especially like your sneakers and chubby cheeks.
did you get drunk enough to wear the robot costume? i'd like to see pictures of that! -katie
